What is a C license?
A class C licence is a commercial driver's permit (CDL). The licence gives drivers the ability to operate vehicles that have a gross vehicle rating (GVWR) limit of 26,000 pounds. A class C commercial license (CDL), allows you to drive a vehicle that has a gross vehicle weight of more than 26 000 pounds or any combination of vehicles which do not meet the definitions for Class A or ClassB, including vehicles that transport passengers as well as freight. If you want to drive vehicles that carry dangerous materials or transporting double or triple trailers, you'll need the right endorsements.
You'll need to provide proof of your identity and age, along with a copy of either your driver or operator license or operator license, if applicable, in order to apply for an C license. Additionally, you will be required to pay an application fee.
How do I apply for a C license?
The process for applying for a C licence is very similar to the process used to get an ordinary copyright. You must pass both a written test and a driving website test on the road. You can also download the application form on the website of the MVTO and bring it along to the medical exam. Once you have passed the knowledge and skills tests then you'll need to undergo a medical examination at an approved facility.
A commercial copyright lets you drive the same vehicles that those with a regular drivers license are allowed to drive, plus things you aren't allowed to drive on a regular license like loads for hire and HazMat. How do I obtain my C license?
You must be at minimum 18 years old and pass a medical examination to be eligible for a C licence. You must also hold an all-inclusive license (category A) and pass the test for the C license. The test can be taken either online or in driving schools. To prepare for the test, it's advised to test your driving with a partner and study the relevant information. After passing the test, you'll be awarded a certificate and a driving licence.
If you are under 18, you may still apply for a C+E permit however you must have your legal guardian or parent sign a consent form stating that they consent to letting you drive large vehicles. You must first complete the C driving test and possess an B category copyright before you can apply for a C+E. Then, you can begin training with HGV driver-training companies to learn the skills required to operate an artic lorry.
